Thank you for all your votes and support for yesterday's BIF image and particularly to Keith (niknut) for his valued UA.

I got up to try to catch sunrise over The Roaches last Saturday but the cloud cover was too heavy for any spectacular light shows. However, the heather is so lovely at the moment that it didn't really matter and I was alone on the hillside for an hour and half with just a few hares, grouse and sheep for company watching it get light - lovely.

This is Hen Cloud with a lovely patch of light in the far distance.

Thanks for looking
Jason

Excellent use of the time of year with the purple Heather, beautiful Landscape image. I agree it is just superb to be out in the landscape alone at that time of day.

Composed Upon Westminster Bridge, September 3, 1802
by William Wordsworth

Earth has not anything to show more fair:
Dull would he be of soul who could pass by
A sight so touching in its majesty:
This City now doth, like a garment, wear
The beauty of the morning; silent, bare,
Ships, towers, domes, theatres, and temples lie
Open unto the fields, and to the sky;
All bright and glittering in the smokeless air.
Never did sun more beautifully steep
In his first splendour, valley, rock, or hill;
Ne'er saw I, never felt, a calm so deep!
The river glideth at his own sweet will:
Dear God! the very houses seem asleep;
And all that mighty heart is lying still!

Although far from Westminster Bridge the words came to me when I looked at this
stunning image Ryan. The heather clad hills look majestic to me and I'm sure your feelings echoed
those of William Wordsworth.

Jason up with the lark, and then has the company of a grouse. Was it a well-known grouse? A Famous one?Wink And a hare - of the dog? As for the sheep, well...WinkBlush OK, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and presume it was Sheep Dip, a great whisky.

Marvellous expanse of heather, Jason, what a sight it must be.
