Re-work of an earlier post.

It got me 2nd in tonight's camera club competition (Colour Prints) and I am quite chuffed because I also got a 2nd for The Big Freeze (mono PDI), Highly Commended for National Gallery of Canada (mono prints) and Commended for Scarce Swallowtail (colour PDI).
Still to get that elusive 1st though GrinGrinWink.

What makes this image for me Jason, is the back-lit leaves creating a marvellous bokeh in the background round the top of his antlers. Wouldn't be the same without that.

As for your other images, the big freeze is one hell of a sharp b&w image, so no surprise it did so well.

Love the bokeh a long lens creates - super here.

Excellent crop - different from the usual - good detail especially in the eyes. Also like the bit of grass sticking out of its mouth Smile
