What a fine spread of the inner city you have captured in this inclusive shot, with the Shard dominating the more distant skyline.
That golden light is so attractive to view in the depths of winter.
And you have some fine detail in the more shadowed facades too.
Excellent shot.
Ronnie.
When the's 'ardly no day
Nor 'ardly no night
There's things 'alf in shadow
And 'alf way in light
On the roof tops of London
Coo, what a sight!
Apologies for **** Van Dyke's cockney accent ![]()
A fantastic view, Charlotte, and beautiful captured in the late afternoon glow.

The magical hour when the lights are on but there's a hint of light in the sky too. Everything seems to be sleeping.
Moira
Perfectly captured and includes most of the icons parts around that part of the capital. Just where did you take this from Charlotte? the reason I'm asking i have won a trip up to the top of the (BT) Post Office Tower and we go next Friday, our alloted time is 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm, so just at the best time of day. Thanks for posting..Best regards Phil ![]()

Hi Phil, no not the BT Tower...that's quite a distance away, but with a long lens you should get some fantastic shots especially at that time of day. Congratulations, I'm hope you have a memorable time.
