First thing Saturday morning.. and I arrived at Ullswater about 0745 thinking I would like to get a bit of mist on the lake either near the jetty towards Pooley Bridge or with the famous boathouse.. however on arrival I drove into pea soup stuff and could not even see the water. As I drove back uphill towards the A66 (knowing it would be some time before the sun burned the stuff off!) the mist thinned.. then the pre-rising sun turned everything pink!
I had to find somewhere to stop and catch the colour and this gate and barn were the next available place to pull over.
Title? Well I felt sorry for the sheepsies in the barn there.. the ground was rock hard, it was minus 4 degrees and it was not much of a shelter for them really.
I am sure if anybody was up high they would have got some cracking inversions in the Lakes that morning ![]()

A misty magenta morning Jeanie, I almost feel sorry for you too out in that. Aye right you were loving this I'm sure, tremendous effort to get this image, early mornings are the best for making the rest of the day great.

Amazing light and colour. As they say the early bird gets the worm. Ann
Your single-minded approach always results in stunning images. Jeanie and this is a further example. Wonderful!
