From a week of sunshine and showers whist staying with both my daughters and families at a farm cottage in The Howgills in Cumbria close to Sedbergh . 11 family members altogether . Many thanks for recent clicks and comments .All very much appreciated....Phil

Fabulous light! It often surprises me how a brooding black sky can produce such vivid light, especially when it hits yellowish tones.

Well chosen spot from which to point your lens, Phil, that gap in the wall allowing the eye to travel on into the scene uninterruptedly: love this part of the world and this scene from it is so satisfying on many levels. And I love the way the light catching on the top stones in the wall seems to echo the
light catching on the fell tops in the distance. In all a most successful Lakeland landscape, the rainbow against the grey sky the final icing on your photographic cake.

Really fine light, Phil. I think that is not too far from the M6, which we drove up last Tuesday - the light was there and gone in the blinking of an eye between heavy showers. You have done particularly well to catch the landscape thus - you probably had only a few moments. But well worth the wait.

Excellent composition, Phil, with the viewpoint through the gap. The light on the hills and top of the wall gives the image a lovey depth especially against the dark sky, and the sunlit sign post gives the strong verticality in a landscape image. Cracking capture.
