This shot was taken at the wekend in that HEAT!! we had, managed to get a few shots in before it walked off out of sight. Taken on a tripod at 800mm.

The heron is different from the ones I see--the dark feathers on the neck and soe other details---( i live in Penna. and the herons I see are on the Big Spring Creek-occaisionally on our river and once in awhile they rob our millpond. ) Thanks for the image and the info!
