A cyclist racing past ,e in Salford Quays. this was taken in August last year, the race was the Salford Nocturne.
I wanted to capture movement, as my aim was to get a photograph to enter into a competition where the theme was Movement. My photograph won!

Excellent crop, reinforces the strength of the image. The stark b/w treatment removes all distractions. A worthy winner!

And so it should have too. I really like the dynamic nature of this. If I have one bug bear its how the word litter is still clearly visible.
Nice one - was the prize worth while?

Edit: Jenni, don't be put off by the lack of votes. This can be a fickle place and much has to do with the time of your upload, your activity on the site, and pure luck ![]()
thx all ![]()
Adam, i did consider cloning the word litter out, but time got the better of me and i didnt get chance before submitting it for the comp. the prize was a large canvas print of the photo
so yes, definitely worth it!
the shot was pure luck! i had gone with intention of trying to use rear curtain flash, using the pop up flash on my camera, but the security barriers around the track made it too difficult to get the low angle i wanted.
this looked good on the cameras lcd, but was out of focus when i uploaded to the computer, hence the effect i have given it. its all been done with levels and curves, no blur filters or motion filters or anything.
will be looking through my pics later for another favourite to upload!
