Not sure what these buildings are called, but they are apartments at Salford Quays. Taken in September last year, i really like the mono version, moreso than the colour. I think it gives a feel of a Mediteranean holiday complex, on the beach almost!

Hi Jeni, love the composition, I feel there’s a little too much contrast, some people might like the effect but the sky is a bit too dark, did you use a polarizing filter?

Looks like a collection of Burj al Arab hotels! Yes, very Med-ish, or at least somewhere other than Salford. Agree the sky might be a tad dark, but what do I know. I like it.

yes, i used a polarizer. had just bought it so was fiddling and turning to get the best effect! ive got a few similar pics with different skies due to the effects of the polarizer. i like the dark skies... (wont stop me messing with the pics when ive got time spare though Smile)

I like this and I like the dark sky as is does contrast well with the lightness of the buildings. The only thing I'd be tempted to do would be to correct the verticals on the buildings at either end Smile

Sean, i took this when i didnt really know about correcting verticals, so the thought never really ocurred to me. ill give it a go when i have some spare time now i know how to!
