Now as they say.For some thing quite different. I think more fun but still AFRICAN WILDLIFE.
The Oxpecker Birds. Two species, The Red-billed and The Yellow-billed. They are considered to be semi-parasitic.They forage in small flocks on large mammals eating ticks, fleas and flies but also consuming wound tissue, blood and secretions. Not a nice way of having your dinner.......Jack

Not any more
Only kidding
This wonderful beast looks like he has a set of false teeth
Great shot
Another awesome capture on the Tour of Africa. Great write-up and the little bird, despite he has to eat unsusula food, is really beautiful! Spor on capture.
Dave (off to have lunch now ![]()
Well, this is a really great capture Jack but the explanation must be read not before the lunch ![]()
I just wanted to appreciate the second portrait (oxpecker) and after reading your text i changed my mind, these oxpeckers must be vampires man!
However, the picture is excellent and the introduction well composed!
Gabriel
I think this is wonderful. Not only do you have a close detailed and well exposed image of the beast, but a wonderful expression, composition and dof. There is also a beautifully natural symmetry with the horns and ears. I have to give it my UA.
I like this portrait of an unusual model.
The buffalo seems to enjoy the situation and is have a lovely smile.
Great photo!
