This was taken with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 (my wifes camera) in manual(ish) mode, AP and iso at 1600

Can anyone recommend a small inconspicuous camera that can perform well in these types of conditions.

Please help, I would love to hear your expert recommendations and advice.

BTW this was the Arctic Monkeys in Newcastle 5th November (not a firework in sight), absolutely great gig.

Jerry

I don't think its the cameras fault its the lighting. There is probable loads of different light sources Tungsten, Halogen plus coloured lights and not many cameras can cope with this. The only thing I can suggest is to get a camera that you can adjust the white light setting. Also it looks like the camera has overexposed and is trying to get a picture as if you were outside in bright light. I don't know what camera you could use but try taking more control of yours and see what you come up with.

David.

These have to be one of the most difficult situations in which to take a photograph, with the different colours of light and constantly changing, too. Very well done here, Jerry Wink

Thanks chaps for taking the time to comment. There are a few compact cameras that offer to shoot in raw and full manual that I will look into.
