I spotted this in town yesterday. The scaffolding around the building has been there for ages. I'm not sure that it's not actually holding the building up. I've looked at it a few times as a potential photographic target but I've never done anything about it.
Until yesterday.
Now, I haven't erected scaffolding for a good few years, so I'll stand to be corrected but I reckon that, although it appears to be unbraced, (it looks too small to need it) it's been put together correctly and that its construction is sound.
The question simply remains then; why would anyone want to put it there ! ?
It's platform is higher than the roof, although its face matches the the vertical plane of the wall. In other words, it's too high up and too far from the building to be of any obvious use to anyone!
A lookout perhaps?
