Still life's not my strong point and I have no real equipment or set-up with which to shoot it, so, once again, I've fallen back on the 'cheapskate studio,' flash, sunshine and a big window.
Shot taken manually, (RAW) the camera on a tripod, using mainly window light (the shadows are from a venetian blind) from the left and a hugely powerful hotshoe flash that I got very cheaply from a car boot sale, power turned right down, at 45° with a child's white sock over the end to act as a diffuser and bounced from a piece of hand held white card to reflect it downwards to blow out the background.
I converted it to mono using the 'Gorman' technique via the photoshop action that Tony Dudley was kind enough to pass on anyone that wanted it quite recently.
