One of two chainsaw carvings in our local park.

OK if you like that kind of thing, I suppose.

I do. It's very, very clever. Though I suppose I appreciate how difficult it is to do well.
It's outside of my skill level

There's several very good ones in Pershore, Worcs.

There's a guy who sells his art in a layby near Newton St. Cyres in Devon (there's a mobile 'greasy spoon' so he gets quite an audience). He actually saws right beside the road, so we can see the piece emerging from the trunk - it's fascinating (there is a huge horse growing at the moment!). I really love his work, but have never had the time to stop and find out how much he charges.

A few weeks ago there was a fantastic hare..................but it's gone now! Sad

I must admit the piece you have photographed here looks a little odd - more like plastic then wood!

Hare today, gone tomorrow Grin

Thanks Karen,
You're quite right.
This and the other one are about three years old and used to be 'finished' as bare wood but it would appear that they've been given some kind of coating.
Presumably,. it's some kind of preservative but they looked a lot better without it.
