I really like this shot. It has a lot of drama and is perfect in mono. I like the way you have place the building in the middle of the pilings giving perspective and a great lead in. You have enough water blur/movement to give that drama I was talking about.
All round a really striking shot and on my shortlist
Like your POV and the water movement capture balanced with the moody sky gives a great capture.
wow stunning image
Thanks guys Much appreciated
This is very impressive - a beautiful capture!
(Don't forget, your 'tags' need commas between them, to enable them to work properly )
oh yeah thanks for telling me
im too used to flickr
Now, this is spectacular!
I've got a real soft spot for the West Pier. I spent many happy hours on there as a child and even now, as it's falling into the sea, it still holds a fascination for me.
When or if it's ever demolished I shall feel an enormous sense of loss.
I think i will too
The pier was closed before i was born so i haven't connected in the same way as you but i do feel sad that i never got to go on it.
As Ian has said above, this is an excellent piece of work and I can only repeat what he's said about its content and execution.
I've had this shortlisted since the first time I saw it and I've been back many times.
This time I'm going to give it my User Award.
It deserves it.
