Ryde Parish Church

Very good, you have managed to balance the light & dark across the image, something that can be hard to do in a church.

The Bell by jholmes

The Bell

Thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it, I think the combo of HDR, Photomatrix & Silver Efex gives B&W images that bit extra. I am finding more and more of my images or either HDR, B&W or a combination of both.

Brian, I agree about the whit halo effect round the groynes, they seem to be a result of the HDR conversion software.

Ballymaloe tree in B&W by jholmes

Ballymaloe tree in B&W

Tony, thanks for the feedback I will make the changes you suggest & see what happens. By the way the tree is at Ballymaloe house hotel in East Cork. If you ever heard of Rachel or Darina's Allencookery programs on TV, its their place but you will need deep pockets to stay & eat there !!!!

Shannon River at the University of Limerick.

Adam,

Firstly thanks for the vote and secondly the feedback, its great to have. Its about a week from I got my D80 back from Protech and after struggling with a Cokin P007 filter, this is a whole new experience.

I this case, all I did was adjust the levels and did not swop channels and I did not sharpen the final image. I will rework the image along the lines and see what comes out.

Again thanks for taking the time.

Ian, Thanks for the feedback. I know about the bands, I went for a low NEF to JPEG conversion to support upload. I have a cropped version but need an A4 version for a local camera club competition & I was just testing the water so to speak !!!

Millie enjoying the view by jholmes

Millie enjoying the view

I know exactly what you mean. Millie did not what stairs were, what a car was and as for the house, she would not come in. Now she has her own chair, goes everywhere with us (including the UK & a planned trip to France this summer), sleeps in our bedroom and as for treats, she know where the fridge is in each of our son's homes....

Broomhill Sands Groynes by derekhansen

Broomhill Sands Groynes

Great shot, the clarity of the timber & movement of the water, just makes it. These are difficult shots and you end up with shaky tripods and very wet feet !!!
