This is Millie, she hates getting her picture taken !!!, she is a gentle soul not the evil malcontent in the picture

The light source was a remote SB600 flash along with the built in flash, down below her on my left.

Any comments appreciated !!!!

Love boxers. I had one of my own for 16 yrs until she passed on. She had a similar expression to Millie. In photographic terms I think the finish is a bit dull and dark. This can be improved - see mod. I bit of shaprening will also help. I probably think a bit more head room - but not sure. Steve.

Lighting this shot from below gives it a quite unusual look. It sort of suggests either shes being interrogated, - or her look is a little menacing. Im not convinced I like it simply due to the fact it makes the white area on her lower jaw very bright. This tends to draw attention. Worthwhile trying it though, as its different. Next time perhaps dial down the remote, - and definitely remover her collar, - the green and yellow also make up areas of distraction.

Overall, if the highlights are toned down under her jaw, the collar cloned out, and some more contrast added (the blacks are quite light) it improves the shot. The lighting has also reflected some of the white hairs in her eyes which can be removed with a little cloning.

Ive done all of this in the mod Ive loaded, and cropped space from the right to place her off centre, and reduced the light in the background.

Hope this is helpful,

Regards

Willie

Decent dog shot but several points. Whilst I don't normally mind landscape portrait, the head needs to be to one side, so, in this case, crop to portrait. Not too bothered about green collar, but the yellow tag and ring need to go, remove or clone.

Lighting - not sure the bottom lighting was right. Applaud the use of a second gun, but prefer to one side and a little above.

lovely looking fella, but he blends into the background a bit too much. Id try to get a better seperation, maybe darken down the back a bit. Also the eye colour come across as cloudy and not as sharp possibly try and pulls these up a bit
