Dont shoot directly at the Sun. It can destroy your eyesight and the camera sensor.

Loaded a mod.

Willie's advice is certainy something to be adhered to and his mod is much better than the original. In addition, however, I feel that a slight anti-clockwise rotation is called for although it may be an illusion. If it is possible try to take your camera setting away from full aperture, with 1/4000sec there is plenty of scope to do so if the camera permits you to do it.

Quite striking even though the sun is verybright. Cannot understand why you used such a wide aperture and high ISO? Direct sun can be dangerous with direct vision viewfinders and direct viewing with eyes. It can destroy sensors though, particularly with liveview.

Thanks for all your comments, appreciated. I am just starting out and learning my way around my camera. I am thinking of going on a course to improve my basic skills but really enjoying getting out & about and experimenting
