A little break from the beehive landscape along the Piccaninny Trail in Purnululu National Park.
This flower was growing on the banks of the dry river bed. Thanks to Prabhusinha who recognised the flower as “Makal” a flower growing also in India.
Now I can officially say that this flower is a Hodgsonia (Hodgsonia heteroclita) which is a small genus of fruit-bearing vines in the family Cucurbitaceae.
A huge thank you to Prabhusinha.
It's a beauty, nice shot with a good background. IB
Don't know it's name but it is beautiful.
I have never seen such a complex floral shape, well captured.
Like fine lace.....gorgeous flower. The exotic species of Australia are a wonder to behold.
Up there with the very best of floral photography.
A fantastic little flower beautiful in every way, good photo like it, I tend to look out for these tiny wild flowers; a lot outshine the large ones, regards Leon.
I love this, beautifully taken.
An amazingly beautiful flower, Jean-Noel, would love to know what it is. Carol
Cracking shot !!!
Its a wild flower, the fruits are not edible. In Bengal India we call it "Makal", Green while young, but turns beautiful Yellowish Red in ripen form.
Lovely image of a most unusual looking flower. A pleasure to find I got to make the 30th click too!
