This is another shot taken in my garden in mid-August. The rose is named Mary Rose by David Austin after Henry VIII’s flagship which was recovered from the Solent after more than four hundred years at the bottom of the sea.

It has a “delicious fragrance is of Old Rose character, with a hint of honey and almond blossom”.

Oh, this is one of my favorite of the Austin roses. I used to grow it when I lived further south. Lovely.

I watched the Mary Rose being raised from my office window. It was surprising how many people were disappointed that the sails weren't still in place!!!!
