“Datura belongs to the classic "witches' weeds," along with deadly nightshade, henbane, and mandrake. Most parts of the plants contain toxic hallucinogens, and Datura has a long history of use for causing delirious states and death. It was well known as an essential ingredient of love potions and witches' brews.” (Wikipedia)

The trumpet-shape flower is pretty large (about 20cm and the opening at the mouth is around 10cm) so it’s quite impressive.

The photo was taken in January while walking in the mountains near the village of Duona in Taiwan (see my previous up-loads of the area if interested)

f16 1/80th sec zoom at 70mm multi segment metering cropped in Photofiltre

Thank you for your comments on my previous photos and hoping you will find the various photos of this flower attractive.

Have a pleasant evening. The week-end should be sunny and warm.

This plant/flower is grown in the US as a spectacular -- both size and scent-- called Angels Trumpets-- I guess the bees like them, too ( we do not grow this on)

A splendid set of these hard to photograph flowers, I had some orange/yellow ones growing in my greenhouse last year
