This Prunus campanulata (Taiwan cherry or Formosan cherry) is a species of cherry native to Taiwan and widely grown as an ornamental tree.
The photo was taken last January on the way to Tengchih Forest Reserve when the trees in the countryside was covered with trees in blossom.
Liugui Township is situated in northern Kaohsiung County, on the west bank of the Laonong River Valley. The area is very beautiful: mountains and forests covering 3/5 of the total area. Like all over Taiwan there are hot springs attracting the tourist travelling on the Southern Cross-Island Highway (a main road linking the East and West coast and going through amazing mountainous landscape).
Thank you for having a look at the previous up-loads and leaving a comment.
Hoping you’ll enjoy the versions of the cherry blossoms and find one you like best.
