I went with the idea of taking photos of landscape and flowers but came back with lots of portraits of people taken in the streets, markets, beaches ...etc... and overwhelmed by the kindness of the Vietnamese.
I've discovered the land where my great grand father built some important buildings in Hanoi, where my grand father explored the Central Highland looking for orchids and where my Mother lived as a child.
The main aim of the trip was to go to areas where the hill tribe people are still wearing traditional costumes and where the markets are the most incredible places to visit.
It was a real adventure, rich in going through beautiful landscapes and meeting so many friendly people.
The country is fairly small and the transport system is very good which means you can travel everywhere without problem (trains, buses, boats, planes).
Food is fine. Hotels are cheap and comfortable. The people are great and will do anything to help you. Some speak English but you can make yourself understood with gestures, drawings, smiles ....
