Hi Folks,
Thanks for all the comments and clicks for 'Red Sun Setting', they are always much appreciated. I did manage to catch up with some of you last week but I have more clicking and commenting to do this evening.
This evening's upload was taken in August 2009 and was uploaded at that time although it has subsequently been reworked in Photoshop. Last Monday I found out officially that it has been selected for the inaugural Joe Cornish Gallery Photography Summer Open Exhibition and awarded a Silver Commendation (there were 3 gold and 6 silver out of total of over 200 images submitted). Joe Cornish himself described it as one of the best open landscape images of the North York Moors he had ever seen. As you can imagine, I have been on cloud nine ever since. The exhibition runs until the end of August and if you find yourself near Northallerton it is well worth a visit, there are over 70 images of a very high standard on display from a wide range of genres.
Ephotozine was the first place I displayed my images publicly and when I think how far I have come in two short years, I am not only amazed but also hugely grateful to those of you who have supported my work during that time.
Have a wonderful Sunday evening. ![]()

Now this is one of the reasons I wanted to have my caravan near to .N.Y.M. to get some images like this . Just love everything about this and so pleased it has got it's rewards. Beautiful light . colours/tones and wonderful composition . Awarded you my award for the week ....Phil
I saw this and thought what a wonderful landscape image and then I read your intro. Glad Joe Cornish was of the same mind ![]()

I'm not surpised he gave you a medal David. This is outstanding landscape photography. You have captured that light to perfection. To produce an image like this one must understand the qualities of the light on the landscape and you have obviously captured this so well.
I do however find one major fault.....I wish it was Mine..LOl
Congratulations.
A stunning landscape, as your title indicates, the light and colour of the heather working together here to make a beautiful effect.

An excellent image that fully deseres all the medals, commendations and remarks from Joe Cornish. Many congratulations.
