Last Sunday morning I shot a league final match between two teams of 15 year olds - Shannon and Old Crescent.

V1 and V2 - two tries.

V3 - the match was played on the sports grounds of Limerick Institute of Technology which is in the shadow of Thomond Park, Limerick's world famous rugby fortress.

V4 - Captain, Man of the Match and Try Scorer.

V5 - Family interest - Dianne's nephew.
None of my my own boys was playing in this game but Dianne's nephew Noel was playing for the Shannon side which won.

V6 - coaches from the opposing teams attend to an injured player.

V7 - 'Ouch'

V8 - an excited spectator relives his youth.

When I go to these matches I feel as proud of other peoples' kids as I do of my own. I never fail to be impressed and moved by the boys. Most of them are playing since six years of age so they know what they are doing. These games are a display of skill, courage, commitment to the cause and each other, strength of character in adversity, joy and pain.

A great set of photographs. For me, V4 is the best. You have caught the action and the consentrated determination of the p-layer with the ball really well. Excellent.

Great set, but for me I'd like to see some really close-up action that fills the frame.
