This photo was taken in Sapa, north Vietnam terraced rice fields where people still farm rice with the traditional methods. It is the harvest season and this mother not only had to harvest the rice with a sickle, but she had to carry her baby on her back while she is bending over to harvest rice all day long. The baby don't seem to mind being strapped on his mother back while she harvests rice. This is a typical working life of a mother in Sapa.

A very hard life and I'm amazed the baby doesn't end up soaking up too much sun!

Really beautiful capture, Yung.

The child gets a topsy turvy view of life as his Mother bends and lifts the rice plants.
