Many thanks for all your comments on my last up load very much appreciated.
Thanks also to Cheesey for taking the time to award the image one of his UA, again very much appreciated.
Location is Salts Mill Saltaire and a wet day too.
Model is Kayleigh Lush.
Again desaturated the colours to give this look
Thanks for looking
Great location work from you and Kayleigh
Beautiful location Richard, lovely model, like the pose,
High quality as always, dare I say it wasn't you tempted to step to right to frame her in the gap?
Beautifully captured. Great location
Thanks for all your comments very everyone.
Tim I have some more to the right to put here in the gap but processed this one first.
I know nothing about model and location shooting. What I do know is an inspired piece of photography when I see it. The model looks so out of place and yet so right in this location. The rainy day and your desaturation of colour adds so much to the final image. The building reflection fills the empty space and I suppose my only quibble might be the slight distraction of the canal barge? further along (not that you could do much about that). Also I am glad you did not frame the girl in the gap....don't think it would have had as much impact as directly below the tower.
Sorry Richard for prattling on........so I will just post my award and shut up
A marvellous composition filled with the subtle desaturated colour, all the lines and just in the right place for you.
The dancers hand hovers over the barge perfectly as if about to pluck it from the scene.
Step to the right and lose the all important reflection, the dancer moves right and her hand loses touch with the tiny barge.
I'll bet you have many shots from here, this looks unbeatable for me Richard.
Thanks for all your comments and feedback everyone, much appreciated.
Many thanks to PhilT2 and uktruckie for their UA very much appreciated.
Almost surreal contrasts. Phil's comment about placement is spot on.
Wish she's been there when we visited...
All the things that you take into consideration when taking a shot come from years of experience I'm sure. You do it so beautifully Richard. This is really superb.
Thank you Sandy
Wonderful. This makes her look so proud and strong.
You'll have to have an imaginary UA today as I've already given it away.
The desaturation works well Richard and you know exactly when to employ this method.
Desaturated satanic mills! Excellent backdrop and contrast with feminine shape and form, Richard.
cracking comp and detail richard a stunner top top shot
Quite a contrast between the subject and setting, very surreal - like it a lot
Love this Richard. Wonderful contrasting factors here and very suitably composed.
A fine piece of work, very well crafted.
Thanks for all your comments everyone very much appreciated.
Thanks also to Lifesnapper for taking the time to award one of his UA, really appreciated John
Excellent composition, Richard.
What a wonderful backdrop to your model Richard. Inspired photography.
An outstanding image, Richard. Superb comp & crafted perfectly.
Love this, Richard. An absorbing and engaging shot. I bet those ballet shoes absorbed their fair share too!
An image of contrasts which works surprisingly well.
Wonderful shot Richard- like it a lot.....
A very striking image that takes full advantage of the contrast between the refined elegance of the dancer and the gritty, industrial architecture.
The location is just down the road from where I live. I'm not there at the moment but I am willing to bet that the ballet dancer down by t'canal will be the talk of the Baildon Woodbottom W.M.C!
Thanks Lynne - yes I can well imagine it been the subject of much discussion in the Club.
a stunning shot
Dougie said it perfectly for me! Congrat's for your awards Richard
Thanks to sjh27 for taking the time to give a UA very much appreciated.
Lovely work Richard
Lots of contrasts. Love where you have placed her in the frame, with the elbow and arm following the line of symmetry of the building. The colours work a treat - really like this very much
Great use of the location Richard, nice processing too.
Great setting and beautiful composition Richard.
somehow she fits the screen perfectly.........if it twas me dear sir woild have taken out the narrow boat as the red draws the eye a tad...;0)
Superb image and so well processed for a great effect, I'm loving this a lot !! And feeling envious it's not mine !!

well posed athletic model in a superb setting with excellent colour and detail. nicely processed composed and presented image.
Deserves more prizes.
beautifully done, I think it works even better on a wet day.
wish I had known you were there I could have said hullo!!!!!
ballet dancers and wet canals dont really work for me ....
great image from you tho'
Great shot Richard.
If you take the buildings as the beast this is a real beauty and the beast shot.
Great comp Richard, so well detailed, I can see why it's received so much deserved attention,
In a word, excellent!
