White-tailed eagle taken on Loch Na Keal Mull, the bird circled a fish a few times then came in unfortunately it came in out of the Sun. (Trying to catch us by surprise!!).

to capture a eagle is no mean feat but to capture one in flight as good as you have is excellnt

Excellent action shot. Great strong diagonal composition.

2 months from now I'll be in Norway amongst these, but mainly concentrating on the fishing. These are the 2nd best thing up there though. My favourite bird of prey Smile

A fantastic in flight shot of a majestic bird.
Is this a captive animal? I noticed the anklet on his left leg....or has he been banded?

Hi Joline, it's a wild bird taken on Mull.

It has got a ring on it's leg but that's not unusual, there is something to the right of the ring not sure what it is but I do know that some of the eagles in that area have radio transmitters fitted so it might be part of that.

The fact that I work for the RSPB should mean that I get a shot like this every time I step out of my front door, but I don't. A superb shot of this gentle, despite that huge beak and talons, bird.
