Well that was quick Ann, many thanks for your award. Cold it was, I had been out earlier for a sunrise that was flattened by the arrival of the snow, great waves of it. This was taken almost frommy front door, I had come back for some coffee to put life into my hands and feet.
Wow, this is an impressive shot of an impressive weather phenomenon.
A beautiful capture of a glorious highland scene. Those towering clouds dwarfing even the majestic hills of this wonderful part of Scotland. The cottages lend scale, which makes this all the more impressive. I have fond memories of GlenTorridon and used to stay quite often on Old Neil Riley's bunkhouse at the foot of Liathach.
Andy
I'm glad it brought memories flooding back Andy, and Thanks for your UA, it's quite a morning for me.

Yep, winter made its presence felt. We had snow and it iced up on the pavements - a sudden shock to the system! Nicely captured.
Moira
That is quite magnificent, Dougie. The big sky has such wonderfully sculpted clouds, a textural treat.
Now I need an extra pair of socks ![]()

A fantastic vista, Dougie. Haven't seen anything this spectacular for ages. That sky is a dream.
Malc
Cheers Malc, it looked quite frightening as it rolled over the mountains which are quite large and sturdy. They vanishes and took the Loch with them while the storm blew over and then the sn came out again until the next giant wave.
The 5D 111 is a great camera I reckon an even better example that the mark 11, I always loved what I managed with the original 5D. A sad parting, I wonder where it is now???
That's dedicatIon for you Dougie, fabulous shot that snow cloud really could be a massive wave of water, quite amazing
Looks like there was a lot of movement in the air. Superb cloud formations, excellent sky above a lovely but cold landscape.
Johanna
