Nuthatches are the contortionists of the bird world, managing to perch in the most unlikely spots........well that's my opinion in my total ignorance of all things avian.
The elements of the shot are so well positioned in the frame, the bird sitting snugly in the curve of the timber perch and 'pointing' across the vacant space.
They don't come much better than this, David.
