These may make good subjects for photographers and this is a good photo but if you live in a house with wood siding as I do they are a pest. I have holes in the wood as big as 2 inches wide and although none have actually got into the house through the drywall it can only be a matter of time. Remember ,they don't just peck at trees!!!!
