I spent a couple of hours watching and photographing common terns last Saturday. They are rapid birds and rather difficult to track for in flight shots. The image I really wanted is V2; the birds fly along and rapidly change trajectory towards the water and dip their bill into th water for a fraction of a second. The unpredictable change in trajectory makes this difficult to capture. I have put v2 in as a record of behaviour; it is not great as a quality image, as I have cropped it to only 3 M Pixels. I aim to go back to improve on this using a lighter lens with less inertia.
