Another Grizzled skipper Pyrgus malvae, from Saturday morning's mini session at Twywell
V2, dust bunnies and OOF shows how small these wee fellas are
Many thanks to Polli (pollisher), Phil (phil_j) & Jenn (taggart), for their User awards given to yesterday's Reed bunting
A brilliant close up of this tiny skipper butterfly, v2 gives us a real sense of scale
Super detail Adrian,
Stunning image, such a beauty, V2 great showing how small it is....
Wonderful image Adrian, excellent colour and detail
Stunning Adrian - great colours.
Simply superb Adrian..although the poor creature looks a wee bit worried at the size of that coin...!!!
Well taken Adrian V1 is super sharp and very well presented with V2 telling the story, well done...John
Lovely Adrian - super hairy detail in this.

A little beauty Adrian.
Good fine detail.
Quote: I know why I keep missing them
Yes, could explain a lot. Didn't realise they were so small.
Superb quality of shot
V2 so shows the skill that goes into capturing these guys ....
Stunning Adrian - great to show some scale in v2, I can't believe how tiny these butterfly's are. Superb.
Okay that's quite enough Grizzled Skipper images now Adrian, i still haven't seen one!
Superb macro work as always mate.
Fantastic shot Adrian. Cathy
Impeccable detail with wonderful wing patterning, textures and tones. Great idea to post v2 giving an indication of scale,
A wonderful macro Adrian.
wow I didi not realise how small they are, makes the macro even more impressive Adrian
So interesting seeing V2 though given your little butterfly is perched on a common Daisy, don't think I was in any doubt as to how tiny it is. V1 is superb.
deserves well the red bishop award a real beauty.
and I'm green with envy. our temperature went up to tropical 13 º today but most of the weekend it was 7-10ºC . No flutterbies
Another showing off the standard of perfection Adrian
like the comparison of size in V2
So tiny Superb detail.
small and delightful butterfly
Excellent macro photography Adrian, the weather down here rules out any such images, even when the
light has been good the bloody wind makes it impossible.
