Could this be the best place to sit and take in the view? The benchmark bench as it were. Smile

Probably all depends if you like mountains I suppose.

Thanks for looking.

gobsmacked by the depth of colour and feeling i could walk in and sit down,
Phil

Beer cans and fag packets included for the keen sighted.
It's uploaded a bit dark in tones but large may rectify it a wee bit.

Great colours and composition.
You have positioned the seat just right in the frame.
The lead in from the left of the bench (Worn Path) takes you nicely to the road, then down to the house and up up and away.
fantastic.

Wow - one of the best landscapes I have ever seen.

As with oh so much of your work John, this one leaps out from the thumbnail in the first instance and then begs to be seen large. So much to look at here, it's a 'proper' landscape. I for one could sit on that bench with a pack of Marlboro's and be happy for a very long time, or until the fags ran out anyway Wink Shot of the day for me, it really is.

I remember there was a "best bench" challenge on here back in 2006. Think this would have taken it " Sitting Down" Wink

The irony is Simon, I never actually sat on that bench for the 45 minutes or so I was there, too busy poncing around with a camera stuck to my eye.

Fabulous image, just a shame some nugget left what appears to be a beer can bottom left.

Amazing. Don't really need to say anything else!

Just come back from a week round Scotland - wasn't really blessed with this kind of "everything in one shot" type of shot...

OMG thats awesome again John love the light around the seat and the way it takes my down the path to that bright field and on to the cottage. But finally to those snow capped mountains and sky to die for.... Just a perfectly formed and exposed image

Nigel

beautiful shot.

Cheers Paul, I personally prefer this view of Stob Dearg, the other side is the one that grabs your attention as you drive over the moor and has the classic waterfall for photographic framing but as a view of a mountain I have always prefered this side.
It's taken just off the main road at the bend where the wee track down to Lagangarbh cottage starts and about 100 yards to the left of yesterday's shot, could actually be on the West Highland Way but don't have my map at hand.

What a setting, I'm sure the people that plan the location of these seats are photographers or painters. Really nice work.
