I was really fascinated by the red rocks in the bed of the river Coupall. A view of Sron na Creise and another munro I can't pronounce.
Been on my hard drive since last April but thought it could do with an airing.
Thanks for looking.
3D tone mapped from one RAW file saved as 3 TIFFs 0.5EV apart then minced through Photomatix.
Great view, interesting foreground (I share your love of those rocks), and a good sky to go with it all - has to be a winner!
Fabulous capture, John!
It rocks indeed! Great shot.
Like the foreground details and the tones in this - well captured.
truly impressive image, nicely composed, love the crispness of colour, crystal clear water with hints of reflections and the light hitting the side of the mountain. Only slight critism would be that the clouds at the top of the image appear a little dark and almost flat compared to the rest of the image. Well worth an upload tho, and will serve as inspiration for myself if I ever manage to venture out with my camera again
Thanks for your honest opinion of the clouds Ben, I kind of felt the same way as well and even cropped and lightened a wee bit but decided to keep them in at the top to provide a frame as it were.
I like it, very crisp
Fantastic image - great foreground detail and clarity
Great image John like the fg detail and and what clarity can see what you say about the clouds but never picked up on it until I read your comment
i love the shot. the thumbnail drew me in and glad it did too
Works well for me as it is John.
Eyecatching shot, John.
Cracking image John, well done.
Super image, John, lovely warm colours and just the right amount of white fluffy clouds.
love your work, John...
Beautiful shot!!!!!!!!!!!! Please view large great detail!!!!!!!!!!
Stunning shot excellent comp
A real cracker, one of the sharpest images I've seen on here for some time.
Superb image. Sylvia
Love it and good HDR work.
Quote: Love it and good HDR work.
Cheers Fraser, not strictly HDR in the true sense but just used the Photomatix program to emphasise textures, contrast and colours. Something I can't do in PS.
Great image John, love those foreground rocks.
Another fantastic image John and one of the sharpest seen on here consistently, your 3 d intrigues me,
Possibly the best of many shots from this viewpoint. The compsition and clarity of the water in the f/ground lends itself to pure class. 12/10
Congratulations on the HC, an excellent shot.
Thanks all and Pete for the HC, all appreciated.
Might yet go triple figures!
Hope it does, it's a beauty!!!
#100 but it deserves it!
Nice, but modifications are too obvious.
If you could expand on your comment Harry I would appreciate it as I welcome critique and always striving to improve.
