Butterfly

ButterflyI do like it very much. The only slight distraction is the white glow around his antennae. Is it something in the background or an editing? I would suggest darkening it up a little to perhaps a light beige tone. The butterfly is totally gorgeous!
June Sunset in Coda Covallo, SardiniaI am not a member of the critique team, but I don't agree with lightening the image at all. The lovely shapes of the trees and distant hill are beautifully silhouetted, and are nicely balance. I would clone out the small dark bush in the lower right. Sometimes nature's drama is so beautiful that it doesn't need to have any man made object in the scene, in fact in this case I think it would spoil the image.

Girl on the Promenade

Girl on the PromenadeV2 is so very beautiful, it tops the mono by a mile.
In answer to your question this article my help:
Quote: Banding is caused by the failure of an algorithm during an image conversion, such as switching to a new color mode. If too many near-identical image tones spread out farther than its computational area, the algorithm can fail, and the conversion may produce tonal edges called bands. To eliminate banding, use the Add Noise filter to add pixel variation to adjacent tones.

It is a very informative article by Doug Nelson.

November Sunrise

November SunriseOther than the white object in the foreground, this is beautifully done. I hope that it isn't a plastic jug, I'm telling myself it is a rock, but I would clone it out. The sunrise and the pilings are wonderfully dramatic.

The Actress No2

The Actress No2If you study the rule of thirds and the golden ratio it will help with your placement of the eyes in portraiture. If the eyes are on one of these lines, or at the cross lines it will give much more power to the image. You can look these up on google, and I think there is a down loadable program that helps you when you are editing.

Contemplating

ContemplatingThis is wonderful....she has such an interesting expression, like she is sad to be leaving her old life.
I would suggest removing the reflection of her necklace from her face.
Your lighting is gorgeous.

On Golden Pond

On Golden PondVery beautiful. If you have more, I would like to see just a little more space above the bird's head. The colors and reflection are lovely.

water drop on feather

water drop on featherWelcome from the US, Jack.

I love abstracts, and this is a good one. I don't find the diagonal not in the corner at all disturbing, in fact in this instance I rather like it. I'll be the drop falls pretty close to the golden spiral, which is a fine compositional position.
Looking forward to more.

Flowers of Darkness

Flowers of DarknessI like this, although I think I would prefer it with just the single off-centered flower. The second one seems a distraction. The concept is quite beautifully handled.

Coat Of Arms

Coat Of ArmsExcellent detail.
This one would have benefited to have more on the top and less on the bottom, so the whole upper scroll would be visible.

Matching thread

Matching threadTo me, this is more of a craftsman's image rather than fashion, but that being said I like your composition. I do see a yellow discoloration of the skin tones. The 4th modification would be my pick....the mono actually makes it seem more of a fashion shot somehow.

Sepia Splendour

Sepia SplendourI very much like the effect on the flower. I would try to clone or dodge out the upper right dark spot. It takes away from the simple beauty of the composition. Otherwise it is well worked and quite lovely.

SURYAN ... MY LITTLE BABY

SURYAN ... MY LITTLE BABYA very good portrait of a gorgeous dog. I might crop it in just to the left of the brick which is lying on the ground. It would bring more attention to the dog. My eye was drawn immediately to the brick and the pallet on the right. I also am not a fan of incorporating writing on the photo. If you want to title it, a moderate frame and smaller letters work better for me. Your colors, especially in the dog are very nice.

Sleepy Time

Sleepy TimeFine image!
If I were to change it at all, I might clone out the little round spots here and there amongst the down. Also, look at a crop which eliminates the white in the lower left. It would also put more emphasis on the duckling without having the eye drawn downward.
Good luck with this well composed photo.

Metal curving through to wood

Metal curving through to woodThe textures and contrasting forms make for a fine composition. I might suggest cropping a bit at the top and right side. Eliminating these lighter areas would make it a much crisper comp.
Well seen.

Coffee Cups

Coffee CupsI think the mono version does more justice to the repeating pattern. I like the color version, but the different colors break up the flow of the pattern. In the color version, I think I would prefer it with the last two row of cups cropped. Then the attention is more on the wonderful color of the cups. As it stands, I prefer v1.

Sunset over the bridge

Sunset over the bridgeThe colors and silky water are well done. My only suggestion would have been to compose it so the upright of the bridge fell into a thirds position. The right side of the image doesn't have as much interest as the left side. By using the rule of thirds, it would have been better balanced.

The Lantern and the face

The Lantern and the faceA perfect duet.
As a critique...there is a halo effect around the portions of the lamp, usually caused by over sharpening. I know you are learning photoshop, so I thought I would mention it for your consideration.
I like the composition so very much.

Smelling for his duties

Smelling for his dutiesI really am more attracted to your composition than the mods. It gives the feeling of the place, and is true "street photography". The details are what makes the photo interesting. I understand the classic reasons for wanting to crop the sign, but in this case I think the rule is better broken. The tension that exists in the varying elements of the photo is also its strength.

Chapel door

Chapel doorSince you asked for critique, I would suggest this would have worked better had you taken it straight on rather than off to the side. That being said, I think it is beautiful architectural feature and I am enjoying seeing it.
