These two beech are suffering from beech scale disease. I felt rather sad seeing them appearing to support each other. These trees should come down, but since they are on unmanaged land, they will probably die as they stand.
Great colours and textures Joline .
Sad but excellent image Joline.
Lovely composition Joline
You and I can share the silence
Finding comfort together
The way old friends do
sad and lovely.
Un managed land sounds good--- The phone company has been preparing to run a new line near us-- clear cutting a 30 foot swath for easier maintenance--- heaps of cut trees line the road, lawns , etc.
Sad to see the beeches dying!
A shame to see any tree die Joline especially ones that are old friends. Well spotted.

You've captured these two old friends well.
Old and gnarled and still together, till death shall part them - just like me and my husband.
Great textures, a good image!
a great image of the cycle of life. Very iconic!
