Oh, how would love to go there. Such a beautiful design. Your control of the light and exposure is perfectly done.

My interest in symmetry shots is always to hunt out the breaks that add spice. That grille half way across the top of the stairs, and its shadow, add so much!

A symmetrical delight, Rende, such detail in such a small image. The colour is glorious and the light brings out the decoration punctiliously.
I must admit that on the whole I prefer my cellars to be decorated with wine bottles, both full and red; but since there are no cellars at all at Woolybill Towers I shouldn't complain when faced with this masterpiece of medieval architecture!
Regards
Bill

Beautiful shot. I love the lighting and I agree with Moira about something just breaking the symmetry, although I hadn't thought about it myself.
I've been to Chartres Cathedral and I missed this; either because I never ventured into the crypt or because I wasn't looking properly when I went there. Glad you were awake at the time. Strangely, the thing I remember most about Chartres was the local beer served at the bar/restaurant across the square. That probably explains everything.Wink

Yep, missed this as well when we visited. I do remember a giant pair of wellies outside though!! Nicely captured in the low-light, Rende.

I think you have captured this beautifully, Rende, love the symmetry and detail, and it's a far better image than those I've seen by googling.

Very interesting lighting shapes and colours; the steps leading upwards lets you right into the shot, very nice like that, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
