I nearly called this one "Thank you Lord" ! In the last few years I have had 2 sightings of bullfinches in my garden. Needless to say I wasn't set up. This evening, we had a real downpour and just as it was stopping there was some frenzied feeding going on at my feeders. The usual sparrows and a couple of my now resident goldfinches. So I went upstairs, grabbed the camera, stuck it through the bedroom window, focussed on one of my perches to set up, and within 2 seconds this male bullfinch appeared in the viewfinder. I almost fell over with excitement but rattled off half a dozen shots before it flew off. Its a first for me and was at the top of my wishlist. Hope you like it as much as I do

Many thanks for the C&Cs on yesterdays nuthatch and thank you Ray42 for your UA. All very much appreciated

Geoff.
Rofl.... reading the note I suddenly though he has a shot....and bloody ell what a shot it is too !!
As ever the detail is incredible mate...you really are in a different league with your stuff...don't think I have ever seen a bully with so much detail if I am honest....and I have been no more than 8 ft from them in the flesh...lol !
The experts amongst will know but I wonder if this is a young bird which has just matured - 1st year juv praps? He doesn't look fully developed in the feathers or is that from the rain? Anyway its a stunner and if Mr Pete is looking this is a special shot... *cough* ![]()
Now...I am wishing you to get a female in there too - not as colourful but it would be great too.
regards
Al

Stunning capture Steve, We have these in our garden and they are little buggers to get pictures of. Well done on GEA's Award too!
WOW. Despite the fact that this is a pain to get a shot of, you have done brilliantly, this is pin sharp.
Knocked out with this one Steve, congrats on the awards,
