Here's a shot I took of a Robin at Stocker's Lake.
This fellow came closer to me and Jonah than any other Robin I've ever known and was literally hopping round our feet.
I decided to try and photograph it with my 180mm macro lens which is how I got this pic. It's only been cropped very slightly so gives you some idea of how close it actually was! Smile
Something about snow makes birds really tame for some reason!

I hope you like this one!

It's a bit late but...

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

What a marvellous and impressive shot, Joe. I don't think I have ever seen such a finely detailed close-up shot of a robin before. Truly excellent work.
Ronnie.

I bought the 7D several weeks ago after I sold the 50D.

Thanks for the comments, Yung and Ronnie!

I couldn't recommend it enough! It's an absolutely superb camera! The ISO has been a great improvement over the 50D, this for example was taken at ISO 1600 and I've only done a little noise reduction. It's got a tonne of great features too like the HD video mode, in-built flash transmitter, 8fps continuous mode, 19 cross-type focusing points... the list goes on Smile

Superb close up Joe. As a rule of thumb I shoot all wildlife at WB Manual 5500k. Never fails.
Terrific close up and eye detail, even showing you in the eye.
Great capture
Have fun with that new Staelth Hide, the best
