A detail from the "Walking Axle" on a Scammel wagon. Proper engineering, I have never seen the oil filler cap with the engraving aligned in any other way, on a proper restoration as this is, or an unrestored original. Also, a vague memory only, but I think the threads were handed, one side of the vehicle to the other, so filler caps could not be exchanged and be fitted with the text upside down, a most heinous sin . . .
