This is a strong pic, John. Lovely sky. The actual sun is blotted out by the clouds so you do not have a large burned out area there. Good use of grads so that strong light is controlled and you have enought light in the foreground to bring out the detail in the wooden structures.

My only issue is with that blue rope. It is quite prominent in the pic because the cold blue colour contrasts strongly with the predominantly warm tones in the rest of the scene. I wonder if it is just a bit too dominant and stops the eye getting into the pic. I have uploaded a mod for you where I have used the sponge tool to desaturate the colour just slightly. See what you think.

It's good work, very pleasing shot.

Best wishes

Catherine

Thank you Catherine, I agree with that. I'll think about that in future pics of this type.

A cracking image in every way, I like the textures & detail, & personally I quite like the splash of contrast in the rope. I'll try a small mod. when I can to give the f/g water a slight lift....we've all got different ideas, & who's to say who is right or wrong, but it's interesting to read the viewpoints...1st class !!!!

Rather well done. I don't mind the rope, it gives a strong colour contrast to the orange and red. The colours are good, but have an interestin effect - quite acceptable but must be the grad.

Not HDR is it?

No Paul, it's not HDR. Thanks for your comments - I appreciate your input.
