It's 2 days since warney posted his version of this shot so I think I'm safe to put mine up ![]()
Taken on Thursday with dave and nick, this is the refurbished band stand in Roundhay park. it's painted with red, green, blue and purple gel flashes.
Exposure was getting on for 5 minutes, ISO 200 and F8.

This is the shot of photo that I like to take, given the chance.
I like how it shows how much the stars move in a short space of time. Really good colours
I agree with Mike, it has an Oriental look about it.
Excellent work Ade, to get a result like this. The cloud movement has given you a superb effect also.
Ian.
I think the cable may be an aircraft? It certainly is tremendous work Ade, I recall a bandstand at the beginning of a movie many years ago, it was just like this.
You do good work Sir, well done.
All the very best
Dougie
I bet it never looked as good as that before. This is an exciting technique.
ta folks
it's actually an aeroplane passing over to the airport, you can tell by the intermittent light from the flashing light you get on planes, and also it doens't appear on any other shots I took from that spot.
These are very well worked out, there is a shadow inside the bandstand, was this meant to be in or a happy accident, either way its clever work.
Steve
Those shadows are hard to manage really
you need to move on each flash to stop them happening, but sometimes you want the light to appear to be coming from one point, so you need to stand still... then you get the shadows.
I quite like them as it can look a bit creepy
