I really like the composition of this photograph. I think the tree is just great as a main subject. Its high contrast makes the main subject stand out from the low contrast background, giving this two-dimensional photograph a third dimension. This effect is further emphasized as the background gets lighter the further into the photograph.

Thank you all for your votes and comments, trees tend to attract my eye whether it's their shape or colour I can't quite put my finger on it.... maybe it's because they too have lived a life and portray it in their stance.
