I know lots of people are uploading photos of birds at the moment and mine isnt nearly as ggod, but i was really excited by how close it came to me, havent uploaded anything like this beofre so please give me your comments.
well taken they can get quiet tame. well composed jimbo
I know the feeling, excellent effort.
Try to watch out for the background, go low and tilt up angle against a tree in the background works usually.. Nevertheless an excellent effort, Kate.
Tried to capture a shot of a robin today so I now how hard this can be. Good effort
Good try. I've taken hundreds and discarded most of them. I try to avoid any sun as it causes shadows or highlights on the bird.
Last year I put a flat topped feeder about 4 feet from the kitchen window with seeds bread and a fat ball hanging from the washing line. I mount the camera on tripod and wait until they turn up. Even then it may take an hour or two to get anything worthwhile - good hunting.
The other problem we have here is the sheer quality of the photos on this site. As I've found its something to aim for.
A jolly good first try at a Robin shot.
The DOF could be a bit shallower, but it isn't too bad.
Nicely framed subject.
I think the sun's angle has probably spoilt this shot for you.
Keep trying and keep uploading.
