[quote]They are called Jellyfish clouds (Virga); thanks for the info nicky we are lucky here we get a lot of lovely cloud formations around dusk but this one looked so different, thanks for all the votes and comments, tom
A wonderful sky, but given to the greens, the saturation is quite high. I'd go down a bit there. But the cloud formation and the colour hues are superb - well seen and taken,
Johanna
I agree with above. The sky is superb, but the foreground trees are a little oversaturated.
You also have a band along the very tips where the trees are almost silhouetted, which doesn't look quite right. It's difficult to avoid, but worth the effort when you get it right. I believe that you've been darkening the sky to enhance it, & just didn't select high enough to avoid the tree tops. I do this myself, then drive myself mad trying to correct it.
The answer seems to be a wider feather, & a low opacity eraser to dab over the bits you caught. It's better to lighten that part of the sky than darken the trees, as it looks more natural.
Stunning colour in the sky, & a fabulous pattern in the clouds.
