A Water Boatman. Such a weird creature - it breathes through it's bum! (the hole, lower left). This one is actually holding/eating a fly (if you are interested version 2 is a close up, poor quality but I thought worth sharing!). 
They swim around up-side-down, that's it's underside you can see!
I've never had them in the garden pond before!

Great macro image in V1, handsome model even if it does have weird breathing equipment.
