A Speckled Wood on grass.

First time I'd been for a walk in ages, the grass has really grown tall and is in the middle of flowering. A Speckled Wood was defending its territory (quite funny watching it 'see off' a Large White (the difference in size is quite obvious when they're together)). I quite liked the effect when I saw it perch on a grass head for a few seconds (I was quite lucky to get this one, the breeze was quite strong!).

A little disappointed with the over exposure on the grass, but I still think it's worth sharing! Smile

Well captured, Karen. The green tones and light makes this so good for me.

Good catch, Karen.
Alot of the flare can be photoshoped out.
Also if I may say, it looks to me as if your camera has a
a bit of a blue green bios making the image a touch coldWink

Of course you can say Colin, especially if you pass on a hint or two on how to cure it!! Grin

Despite the light being rather harsh this is a fine shot of this speckled wood and you've caught some wonderful light through its wings. It's good to see them making a comeback in the last couple of weeks, I hardly saw any at all in the spring
