This one nearly didn't make it - I've done a lot of work in the background. For some reason the thistle head next to the butterfly was really over exposed (white!), so I decided to replace that area.

The green insect below the Small Copper is a Potato Capsid and on the right is a Ladybird (either a 16-spot or a Harlequin), I didn't seen either 'friends' until I put the image on the computer!

Great work Karen, especially as you've a Capsid and a Ladybird in the foreground, yes it could be sharper perhaps, but still a worthy upload IMHO....

Well Karen I like the light that you have captured on the butterfly and you have two other 'beasties' all for the price of one

As stated three for one, love the composition and tones, I have uploaded a Mod for you! Just added light under the wing and used High Pass Sharpening.

A splendid close up of this small copper butterfly, the details and colours are excellent. I like the two little critters getting in on the act
