Hi everyone, this is another shot from the Dominican Republic. Looks like a type of Heron to me but I cannot find a match in the British bird books. Can anyone tell me the exact name of this bird please.

You are right in thinking it is a heron, a green heron to be precise. Commonly distributed in the Americas, but not found in Europe.

It's a little Blue Heron. Must be a cracking photo as it was quite easy to identify Smile
