Big fan of macro stuff but for me the Key element of a successful macro image is sharpness of which I try to focus on the eye , for me most of these shots just are not sharp enough to work v6 is best , I too improvise which home made flash devises and also use a non stabilised lens , think using a tripod or mono pod can really help sharpen things up a bit , not meaning to be negative as all are cool shots but just lack the sharpness to really deliver. Kind regards . Kel

evening John , really like this shot mono works great , love the skeletal trees in the center of the shot and the reflections finish the scene off great .If i was going to be very picky i might have cropped out the leafy tree on the far left of the shot just to focus your eye a bit more on those main tree , very cool shot John , stay well mate kind regards Kel

Great idea and skill for this image , don't find the white section a distraction , I think it adds something to the concept of the storm trooper theme , being they were gloss white. Tones and texture are spot on also , do think the dark cut of line running down the top of the face is a bit sharp , the edges in the rest of the image seem nice and gradual but this one isn't , really good shot look forward to seeing more of your work , Kel

Nice image like the lines in and the texture of the water ,cool shot , do think the sky to the far right of the image is a bit over cooked , shot might have worked better with a couple of exposures blended in a bit , also might have cloned out the rail on the right , minor points and there only mine anyway , nice shot ,Kel
